Presentation
The ArTerm project examines a key moment in Franco-Italian cultural history, marked by an interest in Italian art and the emergence of an awareness of artistic heritage. The research aims to provide a better understanding of the diffusion of artistic techniques and theories by exploring the history of the migration of artists and the material circulation of works and collections. The digital publication of a Franco-Italian corpus of art literature texts will make it possible to study the translation of aesthetic theories from one language to another and the linguistic transfer of aesthetic and technical lexicons. This corpus will be published on an illustrated digital platform and the lexicographical results will be used in a Franco-Italian Dictionary of the Artistic Heritage (16th-17th centuries), a tool for students, researchers, art collectors, restorers and curators.
