Due to security reasons of the Embassy of France, identity checks are intensified at Palazzo Farnese’s reception.
In order to ensure your best possible reception at the library, please take note of the following rules:
- Public access is subject to systematic checks and screening. We thank you in advance for collaborating with the security personnel to facilitate these operations that could take some minutes.
- Please bring a valid identity document and, if you are already enrolled, your library card to access Palazzo Farnese.
If you’re not yet enrolled in the Library, or if you need to renew the card, please check how to take an appointment and get a library card at the page Registrations and renewals.
The access to the EFR Library is at the second floor of Palazzo Farnese. An elevator is at your disposal.
When you arrive, please sign the entry register placed next to the reception, specifying the last four digits of your card, your surname, your name and the hour of your entry. Choose your reading place for the day, by writing your name on the list of available places. Please, respect this assignement system, and do not change your place during the day without the permission of the personnel. We invite you to deposit your card in the card box next to the register.
Simple rules are applied at the library. Before your arrival, please take a look at the Library Rules and Regulations (in French).
When you want to go out, please place the books you no longer consult on the tables for the books to be put back, or, if you want to continue the consultation in the following days, fill in the maneat form, available at the reception points of the library, put it inside the stack of books you want to keep apart, and place the stack on the nearest collection point.
When you leave, do not forget to take back your card and sign the register again, marking the time of your departure on the same line as your arrival.
The library complies with Italian legislation on access to places of culture: it is recommended to wear a mask in all shared areas, particularly on the elevator, on the steps, at the toilets.
Have a great stay!
