Awards at the École française de Rome

Each year, the EFR welcomes doctoral students (award holders and doctoral students under contract, young researchers (members), as well as: teacher-researchers, researchers and other more formal scientific researchers: resident researchers, researchers from the CNRS and partner researchers from scientific programmes.

In addition to library readers, nearly a thousand people visit the EFR each year, for stays ranging from a few days to the whole year.

In this context, the awards represent great opportunities for young researchers and students to carry out their research in Italy.

Each year, the École française de Rome offers monthly grants, intended to provide temporary accommodation for young researchers whose work requires a stay in Italy.

The main mission of these awards is to help doctoral students during the first years of their thesis work.

Two selection panels are organized each year, in March and September.
